Currently, several villages are getting famous among the people who are interested in photography, wants to remind their memory of child and a bloggers visit and posting about the villages. Nevertheless, still many people do not know about those places even if they are living in Busan like us. The very first place that we are going to introduce is Gamcheon2-dong culture village, Taegukdo village as known as Lego village or Santorini of Korea. The culture village is ongoing project while you reading this posting. Let’s get into the culture village, Taegukdo.

#1 Gamcheon2-dong Culture Village

The Origin

Gamcheon was the original quiet seaside town but was changed into a fairly large town now. Taegukdo is the one of the reasons that brought this change. Korea War broke out and thousands of the refugees formed 800 shacks in Gamcheon. In addition the believers of Taegukdo, religion, consulted with government in 1955 and moved headquarter, still exist in the village, to Gamcheon-dong in 1958. Althought Gamcheon-dong had been a large village which population was 20,000 people in 1980’s, the population was reduced 10000 people.

How can I get there?

That is not so difficult as you can see the map. Take a underground line number 1 (Orange line) and take off at Toseong-dong or Goejeong station. And then, get out from the station via Exit 6 and get on the local village bus, 1-1, 2, 2-1 in front of Pusan National University Hospital (PNUH) Cancer Centre when you take off at Toseong-dong or 1, 1-1 opposite side of Newcore oulet when you take off at Goejeong, to get to the bus stop, Gamjung Elementry school. Alternatively, you can take the Taxi from underground station. It will cost around 2,200 to 3,000.
